RULES AND FORMALITIES
QUALIFICATION ROUNDS AND HOW TO DETERMINE THE WINNER
This is the first of this kind of a tournament so please understand that rules may change from time to time. We plan to have 5 rounds in total with everyone entitled to at least 3 rounds before being eliminated. Contestants will get up to 5 soccer balls in the first round, 4 in the second and 3 in the third round. All they have to do in the first 3 rounds is score on either the empty net facing them for 1 point for each conversion from just past the center line, or score on the net facing side ways from the side line (as if taking a corner kick) for 5 points for each conversion. The total points for the balls converted in the first, second and third round will be added together first to determine who gets eliminated, before moving on to the fourth and fifth round.
The top 8 contestants from each field or stream will advance to the fourth and fifth (final round). The number of balls each contestant is entitled to may be reduced to only 2 balls only for the fourth and fifth round. In the 4th and fifth round a net covered everywhere at the front except the top corners with only about 2 feet opening, will be introduced to give an even more advanced challenge that gives 10 points for every conversion.
At any point between the first and fifth round, contestants will have the option to redeem themselves instantly with 5 points by opting to take a more difficult shot or shots, by curving the ball from the side line past the center line as if taking a corner kick, or 10 points (in the 4th and 5th round) by opting to take an even more difficult shot kicking the ball through the 2 feet diameter hole on the net, to either make up for missed points or to get ahead faster.
After the first elimination, the remaining contestants will move on to round 4 with only 2 balls each and another elimination will be done after by adding up the total of converted balls up to that level. And then the final round will occur with each remaining contestant having 2 balls at their disposal. Where everyone scores, the distance may be adjusted by 5 feet. Whoever gets the highest total score wins the first prize money in the tournament, and the second and third best will win 2nd and 3rd prizes accordingly in the tournament.
OBSTACLES AND PRE-REQUISITS
Be ready to shoot the ball over a wall of bubbles, to make more complicated shots such as curving the ball to score on a net facing sideways and to even score through a 2 feet wide hole diameter on the net to maximize your winnings. This shooting-skills-challenge is open to anyone who can kick the ball with their legs starting from the age of 8. A minimum of a hundred participants are required to create a separate tournament for different age and gender groups hence some groups may be combined for this particular tournament considering there is no contact. Once there are enough contestants from both males and females, we plan to have separate streams even for minors and other group categories. Minors will go first at 10am as curtain raisers.
TOURNAMENTS ENTRANCE/PARTICIPATION FEES AND DISBURSEMENT OF PRIZES
Please note that only up to 50% of the total collected from fees may be used towards prizes which may include 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize awards of cash and medals. For this particular tournament, we plan to give out a total of up to $500 in cash prizes for the main stream (18 - 60 years category) ie $300 as 1st prize, $150 as 2nd, $50 as 3rd. Where there are other streams up to half of the collections will be distributed in the same format (3:1.5:0.5) and the fee to participate will be $10 per person regardless of age or gender. We recommend that you bring as many friends and even enemies as you can, as the more people attend, the higher the amount you stand a chance to win...
